LJ jumps the shark

They don't. I never set a preference for it and there is no such preference on that page. And I could have read that on the front page or news anyway. WTF?

They actually mean http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/ which has always had this preference.

They just never e-mailed us before.

Actually this is the second time they've spammed me like this (and I had that option unchecked, from long ago). Thanks for finding the correct URL, though I'm pretty sure it used to be on editinfo.

It did, before they split the settings up. It used to be called something like "recieve information about lifejournal by email" or soemthing though.

Thanks! It appears to be lumped with toolbar and such under "viewing options", which is not logical at all.
