Remember to vote

If you're an registered voter in the EU, please remember to vote (if you haven't already done so). You may not like the mainstream parties much and you may have thought that "they're all as bad as each other", but when there are neo-Nazis standing in many parts of Europe that's surely not true. The European Parliament isn't that powerful but we can give it more authority and willingness to stand up to the European Commission if we take it seriously.

There are also local elections in various parts of the UK on Thursday. You don't need to be a British citizen to vote in these - EU and Commonwealth citizens are also eligible if registered and not disqualified for some reason. In Cambridge, don't forget you have three votes.

All the candidates have to impersonate me?

Yes, and some do a better job than others. Kerry is particularly adept.

In "reality", part of our "campaign finance reform" which passed recently mandates that candidates voice that line ("I'm Joe Blow, and I approve this message") to indicate that the ads weren't paid for by third party action groups.
