Brief announcements

Nattie has two recitals coming up. She will be singing Mozart arias and songs. If you're in or near Cambridge, please consider coming along.

Meanwhile, I'm standing in the city council election on 10th June for the Liberal Democrats. The whole council is up for election due to redrawing of ward boundaries and the local party wanted a full complement of candidates (42 of them!) so I was roped in to stand in the ward where I live. I probably won't get the job - it has never elected a Liberal Democrat or SDP candidate, and the last Liberal was elected in 1965. I'm expected to do some campaigning for other candidates though.

As they say in Chicago: vote early and vote often!

I'm gonna be sooo professional and go: "oooh that's a pretty picture of nattie."

Good luck with the election. FWIW I think the Lib Dems may do quite well this year. I'm working for one at the moment as it happens.

Bleh. One more reason I should go and vote. I'm just irritated because despite the fact that I live two minutes' walk from the Guildhall, the Council has decided that my polling station should be up Castle Hill. If I lived on the other side of Trinity St it would be the Guildhall.

Think of it this way: after doing your bit for democracy, you can reward yourself with a well-earned pint in the Castle.
