Sep. 28th, 2004 12:50 amAn EOS 50E camera arrived by Special Delivery this morning. It's a replacement or supplement for my EOS 100 which has been under-exposing short exposures (to the point where the film looks completely unexposed) and which would cost more to repair than to replace. I bought the 100 with 28-80 mm lens 3 years ago from a colleague for £200 which was the going rate on eBay then. They now seem to go for about a third of that, and I got the 50E (which is a better camera despite the lower number) for only £66 plus postage (without a lens). This drop in prices is rather nice for SLR users like me who aren't ready to spend a grand going digital! Presumably the market is full of cast-offs from those who are.
Eye-controlled focussing is very neat, though not massively useful. I wonder how it works?
