Sep. 14th, 2004 01:25 amBad news: I've had a nasty cold which kept me indoors and mostly in bed last weekend (4th-5th), and although I'm feeling far better now it's affecting my hearing
Good news: tea_cantata has a job
Bad news: It's part-time and it's in Cottenham, which costs a fair bit in bus fares
Good news: She reckons she can cycle there now that she has a new saddle
Good news: We went to the_alchemist's and
yvesilena's joint birthday party, which was very enjoyable
Bad news: The car's power-assisted steering stopped working a while ago. Having decided that we can afford to get it fixed now, and that it's going to be too much hassle to take it elsewhere, I booked it in at Vindis Skoda. They now tell me it'll cost over six hundred quid to repair. Apparently an £11000 car (price of a similar new one, not what I paid) has a steering pump worth £400. Shyeah right. I bloody well hope we don't have to get new parts for it often.
Good news: My parents offered to pay some of the repair cost
Good news: My colleagues seemed to like the oatmeal cookies I baked and brought in to work (some of them have been bringing and sharing shop-bought baked goods and I thought I should contribute too)
Good news: I received my inheritance from my maternal grandmother (she died early this year while I was absent from LJ)
It looks like good news wins, at least in quantity.
