Tomorrow tea_cantata and I going up to Scotland to spend a week on tour with her choir. We shall have time for sightseeing in Edinburgh (aka "Embra", apparently). Is there anything we really must see there, aside from the Castle?
do what I do...run up to a boi wearing a kilt, and ask to see what's under there... Oh, I'm sure the scots don't actually go 'round everyday wearing their tartans...but you never know what you might come across. Make sure you utilise a taxi - get the whole "ya speccy git!" gist going... Ok, I'm officially crazy.
Apparently the Edinburgh Camera is worth a look. (So I was told, after I came back.) The Frederick street Cafe/bar/restaurant had nice food (artichokes and mushrooms in filo patry was what I had, and it was good.) (off Princes street). Taxis are cheaper than in London, or so it seemed to us.
What, the camera obscura? We were thinking of going there but didn't bother in the end. (Didn't see your comment until after we came back, unfortunately.) The buses were reliable enough that we didn't have to bother with taxis. I'll make some proper posts about our trip shortly.
